Danfo Simulator: Open World

Danfo Simulator: Open World

Danfo Simulator Open World is an open-world driving simulation set in Lagos, Nigeria. Players take the wheel of a danfo bus, pick up passengers, follow routes across the city and deal with traffic jams as they work through the day, from the first fare to the last drop-off.

The game features areas inspired by real parts of Lagos, including the Third Mainland Bridge, Oke Arin and Ebute Metta. Players can travel across the city, from Ikorodu to Ajah, while hearing Lagos-style chatter and Pidgin banter from passengers and other drivers.

Why it matters: Danfo Simulator brings a familiar part of Nigerian life into an open-world game. Rather than using a fictional city, it draws on real Lagos locations, busy roads and the daily work of danfo drivers.

The game is being built by Joseph Ojo as a solo developer using Unity Engine, making it an example of how one developer can create a game based on a local setting and culture.
