Overview

IEP Games is the independent game development label of Iranian developer Ilia Esmaili Poor, also known as IEP or IEP-Esy. Esmaili Poor began creating games in 2011 and developed his first game, Kelag, using GameMaker in 2012 before moving primarily to Unity.

The developer has created games across PC, mobile, web and VR, with his work often experimenting with unusual concepts and small-scale independent development. His portfolio includes Backrooms, a horror game inspired by the internet's Backrooms concept, alongside projects including Bit Jail, Foamcore, Abnormal, Been Before, Mouse Game Pro and Ghalt.

Backrooms remains IEP Games' most prominent release. The game launched in 2019 and has been released across PC, Mac, Linux, Android, browser and SteamVR. IEP later released Backrooms: The Lore, which is also available on mobile.
