Independent developer Eureka has revealed that more than 7,000 people have played Lagos Run just two days after the browser-based game launched.

Lagos Run puts players behind the wheel of a Lagos danfo, to pick up passengers, navigate traffic and deal with the city's familiar road hazards. The game can be played directly in a browser without a download.

Eureka [took to X (formerly Twitter)](https://x.com/eureka%5Fseamless/status/2103938108668420286?s=20&ref=bijetic.com) to share that the game was built in their spare time before players quickly turned it into a virtual Lagos traffic jam.

**From danfos to Agberos**

The developer has continued updating the game based on player feedback, with a recent update adding more guidance at bus stops, including countdowns and visual indicators for new drivers.

The leaderboard has also been cleaned up to remove fake scores, while further updates are planned to add Agbero, LASTMA, new buses and a special Independence Day paint job. You can play the game [here](https://danfo.horpey.dev/?ref=bijetic.com).

**Continous growth**

Since its initial 7,000-player milestone, Lagos Run has grown to more than 85,000 players in its first week, according to developer Adeniran Opeyemi. Players have come from across Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, as well as the UK, US and Canada.

Opeyemi has also launched a [fundraising campaign](https://gathrhq.com/campaigns/support-lagos-rfpjn?ref=bijetic.com) to keep the browser game free while funding new features requested by players. Planned additions include agberos, LASTMA, molue and keke, alongside new Lagos routes and weekly tournaments. The developer said agbero was the most requested feature in a player vote, followed by LASTMA, molue and keke.

Lagos Run is also part of a wider history of Nigerian games using Lagos transport as their setting. Earlier titles such as [Danfo Saga](https://www.bijetic.com/danfo-saga/) and Danfo Hustle from [Goondu Interactive](https://www.bijetic.com/goondu-interactive/) have similarly used the city's danfos and traffic as the foundation for their gameplay.
