Addis Games Week 2026 set to return to Addis Ababa from October 26th

Addis Games Week 2026 will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 26th to November 1st, with a week-long programme focused on game development, esports and the country’s growing games industry.

The organisers made the reveal on LinkedIn, inviting game developers and enthusiasts to take part. Partners include the Ethiopian Games Association, Alliance Éthio-Française, Goethe-Institut and ALX Ethiopia.

Ahead of the main event, Addis Games Week will host a two-day game jam from October 23rd to 25th. Winning teams will receive booths at the main event, giving them a chance to showcase their work to attendees.

Showcasing local studios

The organisers have also opened applications for studios interested in exhibiting their games at Addis Games Week. The showcase aims to give local developers more visibility and create opportunities to connect with other people working across the industry.

Addis Games Week is designed to bring together game creators, esports communities and other professionals while helping Ethiopian developers connect with international partners. Its programme also aims to support the growth of local talent and create more opportunities for people looking to work in games.

The event forms part of efforts to build Ethiopia’s games ecosystem, giving developers a place to share their projects, meet other creators and introduce their work to new audiences.
